Roberta Kasha Colombano
I lived in the Netherlands for more than 18 years, so I know from personal experience what it means to create a life in a country far from home.
Living abroad can be exciting, enriching and deeply transformative. But it can also require considerable energy to understand a different culture, navigate unfamiliar ways of communicating and relating, and find your place without losing your sense of who you are.
My own experience was a journey of both love and frustration. Over time, I learned that integration was not about becoming Dutch or leaving my Italian identity behind. It was about discovering what I could learn from both cultures and creating my own way of being. And when I returned to Italy in 2023, I discovered something unexpected: despite being Italian, I sometimes felt like a foreigner in my own country.
It brought me back to a question that many people living between cultures may recognise:
What if I don't have to choose between who I was and who I have become? What if I can simply be myself?
That experience continues to shape the way I work today.
From personal experience to professional practice
After changing direction in my career, I became deeply interested in understanding people, their bodies, emotions, behaviours and the ways they respond to life.
I trained in several approaches across Europe and the United States, including somatic bodywork, focusing, counseling, coaching, meditation, movement and energy work. Alongside my formal training, I have spent years studying, researching and, most importantly, applying these approaches to my own life.
This has shaped one of my core beliefs: There is no single method that works for everyone. Each person brings a different history, personality, culture, body, relationships and way of experiencing the world.
For this reason, I don't believe in applying a rigid formula to every client. I draw from different approaches and adapt the work to the person sitting in front of me and to what is alive for them at that particular moment.
